Special Conditions: Please be aware that the temperatures in the Pilbara in December - February are extreme (40deg days) and the nights are just as hot. As this is our low season there will only be eight Deluxe Eco Tents (NO AIR CONDITIONING) and the Campsites (NON POWERED) open during this time. The restaurant and bar will be closed during this time, however the kiosk will still be open selling a small range of items for these months. Property Description

The Karijini Eco Retreat offers comfortable, luxurious eco tents in a rugged outback setting, along with campsites featuring quality shared facilities including new toilets, showers and BBQ bush kitchens for self catering.

The accommodation facility is 100% owned by the local Gumala Aboriginal Corporation which in turn represents the collective interests of the three Aboriginal language groups Niapiali, Bunjima and Innawonga of the Pilbara region. Visit

Deluxe Eco Tents: offer an up-market, comfortable and natural accommodation experience. Your Deluxe Eco Tent features a front and rear deck and feature their own private ensuite bathroom and offer natural ventilation with spacious stylish interiors. Standard configurations feature either a king size bed or two single beds with luxurious hotel quality mattresses and linen.

Deluxe Eco Tents are powered, primarily for lighting purposes and come with a rechargeable lantern that you can take with you as you move around the Retreat at night - there is also a supply of power available for low wattage applications such as charging a camera battery or mobile phone.

Campsites: For those guests who would prefer to bring their own accommodation there are eighty-two sites suitable for tents, campervans and caravans.

The sites are unpowered - however generators are welcome to be used in the camping loops between 4 - 8pm daily. Shared bathroom amenties include flushing toilets and hot showers.

Campers are welcome to make use of our onsite restaurant and bar, or for those looking to self-cater we offer four undercover bush kitchens scattered throughout the Retreat for the convenience of our guests. These consist of a gas BBQ, sink, preparation area and seating. Please bring your own cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery.
