Little more than a two hour drive north from Sydney in the Hunter Region, Eaglereach is a nature-based resort with over 1000 acres of natural adventure land featuring an amazing variety of fauna and flora.
Eaglereach comprises of 33 custom built family and spa lodges as well as superior resort rooms. Each is sole use and complete with every luxury to make your stay a genuine pleasure. Inclusions vary from pool tables to sauna rooms. These range in size and location to suit every budget. From a one-bedroom cabin to a six -bedroom corporate chalet. Expansive verandahs provide spectacular views across the Hunter region either to the Barrington Tops, one of Australia's largest and awe-inspiring National Parks, or to the Pacific Ocean.
Eaglereach Wilderness Resort is an eco-tourism resort and the experience will be different from that of a coastal resort.......with eco-tourism, nature comes first and we humans need to make a few sacrifices. Travellers to nature based resorts everywhere in the world will expect this difference.
At first there would seem to be a lot of rules; no hunting, no shooting, no trail bikes, no pets, no daytrippers, no speeding,.... yet all these are necessary measures both to make your visit even more memorable, and enjoyable and at the same time preserve the native wildlife and keep the environment intact. Ah the joy of no phones in the lodges.
'Conserve Water' is another sign you will notice. Why? Well this is a wilderness resort on top of a mountain in the driest continent of the world and we rely on rain water. There are some immediate benefits such as: how good it tastes and how good your hair feels after washing in it,... but we all need to use it in moderation. Urban dwellers accustomed to showers from a mains pressure supply will notice the difference. Some guests may say "why is the swimming pool only eleven metres long?" The reason again is that we rely on rain water. If you wish to swim in an Olympic size pool try Goonarook Lagoon.
Native animals are prolific in their natural habitat and of course protected. No there is no vermin but an amazing variety of native animals from possums to bandicoots. Enjoy their presence and refer to the guidebook in each lodge to identify a particular species. If you wish to reduce their intrusion keep the doors closed and never leave food or scraps in or around the lodges.
Access on the network of roads within the resort is easily accessible by normal cars, not just 4WD vehicles, however, we do have speed humps in place to slow down traffic in the interest of our wildlife, horseriders and bushwalkers. Therefore some guests with modified cars or body kits may experience a little difficulty.
We hope you enjoy your visit to Eaglereach Wilderness Resort and return soon to marvel at the diversity of the unique Australian landscape and wildlife.
