Property Description
Curringa Farm is an award winning attraction where visitors can stay overnight, see a sheep being shorn, watch farm dogs working a mob of sheep and learn about best practice farming techniques. Travel through the 300 hectare property to look at the farming, cropping and land care activities in the field. There are three fully self-contained, lakeside spa cottages for travellers accommodation.
The farm is only one hour from Hobart and close to Mt Field National Park on the main highway to the West Coast.
Curringa Farm offers excellent four star secluded accommodation. Enjoy organised farm tours or cook your own barbe-pack beside beautiful Lake Meadowbank, ideal for fishing and swimming. Stop in for coffee or gift purchases at the Home of the Royal Danish Sweetheart Cake. Original Over the Back Lakeside Spa Cottage
Situated in natural bush beside picturesque Lake Meadowbank, Over the Back is a two bedroom fully self contained cottage. Sleeping five, Over the Back has a spacious living area, wood heater, corner spa and deck with beautiful water and mountain views. Perfect for romantic couples or travelling families.
Wedgetail Wings
Completed in December 08, this 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom house also overlooks the beautiful lake. This cottage has a large deck with Gas BBQ, fully equipped dishwasher kitchen and an alcove spa with perfect views. There is a large Plasma TV in the spacious open plan living area as designed for the meeting venue for small groups staying in 2 or more of our cabins. Perfect for 2 couples travelling together.
Seaglenest
This delightful signature studio is hidden from other cottages. Lake views, canvassing our private bush patch where native animals pop out for their evening feed. Queen size bed, double spa, cozy deck with BBQ and a simple kitchenette make it quick and easy for a sexy getaway or overnight stop. You may even meet our visiting sea eagle !
Your hosts, Tim and Jane Parsons are 6th generation farmers in the picturesque Derwent Valley at Hamilton. Only one hour from Hobart, on the main Highway to Strahan and close to Mt Field National Park it is a perfect location for day trips into the Rivers Run Touring Route region.
There is a very strong ecological focus on the farm with Tim and Jane receiving several awards for sustainable farm management practices over the last few years. There is an intensive tree planting and native vegetation conservation program on the farm where visitors can become involved by contributing towards our Landcare activities.
Jane manages the tour bookings and runs the three accommodation cottages, two of which are newly completed in December 08. All are fully self contained and have luxurious spas. Jane will delight you with her cooking expertise and is the face behind the globally recognised Royal Danish Sweetheart Cake.
Tim runs the farming side of the operation; growing crops, looking after the sheep and undertaking land care activities. He hosts farm tours and enjoys sharing and discussing the property with visitors.
Together with their family Tim and Jane will ensure that your visit is both memorable and rewarding.
Farm Tours
Curringa Farm is an established attraction that gives visitors a taste of life on a working sheep farm and a better understanding of wool production, sheep husbandry and cropping activities. Not only will you learn about best practice land-care and farming techniques, but it is also a charming setting for a delicious lunch for a minimum of 4 people.
Open daily for travellers from September to April, from 10.00am to 4.00pm.

Farmtour (minimum 2 people)
2 hour farm tour that includes sheep shearing, working farm dogs, viewing crops in season, forest walk and morning or afternoon tea with fresh home made scones with jam and cream.
Departs approx 9.30 am and 3.00pm
Also available:
BBQ Lunch and Farm Tour (minimum 4 people)
As above, with a delicious BBQ lunch. 11.00am for approx 3 hours.
