Extra people or extra room $40 per night
Extra people or extra bedrooms are charged additionally. Infants who cannot crawl and the parents provide all bedding are free. Infants who can crawl, children and adults are all charged as extra people.
Prices considerable lower when booking for more than one night.

In the Far South of Tasmania, the forest parts to reveal a spectacular open buttongrass plain. Your modern 2 bedroom self-contained cabin is a comfortable eco-experience with 12 volt solar electricity and hot water, wood heating and is
free from distractions like TV and in-room phones.
The perfect place to base for exploring the natural beauty of Tasmania's Far South.
This special habitat is home to a unique range of flowers, birds and animals, a community found nowhere else. In the distance, the sometimes snow capped Southern Ranges loom.
Self Catering Facilities at Button Grass Retreat
Important note: Buttongrass retreat is a place to escape from the hassles of modern life for a few days. Get away from television, phones and 240 volt electricity and enjoy some peace and quiet. 12 volt solar electricity operates the lights and music. There is usually limited 240 volt electricity, enough to charge a mobile phone or camera but not sufficient to run a laptop computer for more than an hour a day.

Environmental Initiatives:
Energy
Wind and solar provide the electricity
Ample twelve volt solar and wind generated electricity operates lights.
Limited 240 volt electricity runs CD and DVD players. You can charge phones, computers etc but you cannot run hairdryers, sleep machines etc. Overloading the electric system will blow the fuse and you will have no 240 volt power for the rest of your visit.
Cooking is by the gas hotplate/oven or on the wood hotplate/oven
Water
Hot water is principally from solar and wood heating. There is gas backup incase of extended cloudy periods.
Water is predominantly from natural sources.
We do not add chemicals.
During summer you might need to be gentle with water usage.
Composting toilets ensure no pollution from septic systems
