QLD ECO CONFERENCE VENUES

QLD: THALA BEACH RESORT

GENERAL INFORMATION
An incentive destination that has so much to offer: Thala Beach Lodge is on a private peninsula between Palm Cove & Port Douglas in Tropical North Queensland. Surrounded on all sides by a World Heritage protected coastline with forest clad mountains cascading right down to the Coral Sea. The World Heritage Organisation rates the Thala area at their highest category for scenic value.

Osprey’s Restaurant has uninterrupted views over 140 km of magnificent coastline and coral reefs from the Daintree in the north to Fitzroy Island to the south, making it one of the most romantic settings in Tropical Queensland. This unique setting allows you to dine in style alongside spectacular parrots, butterflies & tropical birds in their natural habitat. There are many venues for spectacular functions (both indoor & outside) right on our property. It is very private and exclusive. A feeling of unspoilt wilderness sets the ambiance; yet amazingly it is only 10 minutes into the center of Port Douglas. A very special combination of beauty, wilderness and seclusion; yet it is not at all isolated.

SPECTACULAR LOCATION
Just 38 kilometres north from the city of Cairns and 16 kilometres south of the village of Port Douglas. The drive north from Cairns is renowned as one of the best in Australia. It winds along a spectacular coastline with the azure ocean on one side and World Heritage Rainforest on the other.

Thala offers one of the world’s most beautiful private beach locations. Two kilometers of spectacular sandy beach and secluded coves surround a 145 acre resort of unprecedented beauty. Built, owned and operated by locals who care. The tropical rainforest, eucalyptus woodlands, creeks and mountains plunging into the sea are the ingredients that make the natural landscape. Thala Beach is the perfect launching pad for exploring the region's natural wonders, be it the magnificent Great Barrier Reef, world heritage rainforest or exotic wildlife.

A BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL LODGE
Built out from a rocky ridge on high timber poles, this imaginative building has a restaurant with uninterrupted views that sweep for 140 kilometres. This remarkable vista is studded by coral islands, reefs and mountains. Special emphasis is placed on developing a high standard of cuisine but at the same time keeping the friendly informal service appropriate to this beach setting. The reception, lobby, Curlews room, bar and lounge all look out over these amazing vistas. A series of beautiful and unobtrusive rock pools allows guests to swim and gaze out to the Great Barrier Reef at the same time.
